Although our Basin Harbor Rendezvous turned out to be another rainy day, those few who decided to come anyway had a really good time. Ed Bombard, who told me he is not a fair day boater, invited a few of us on his 1956, 26 foot Chris Craft, Wild Rose, and we made our way from Mallets Bay down the broad lake. As we passed the Four Brothers islands the lake calmed a bit, but the rain had started. As we approached Basin Harbor we met up with Ed Hackett aboard Naulakha, his 30 foot 1938 Elco Marinette. We docked and gathered and decided to eat inside the Red Mill instead of under the tent, which had been given to another group having a meeting. I think we were all ready for some warmth at that point. Mark Snelling, one of our members, happened to be at the meeting under the tent and took a great shot of Wild Rose coming into the harbor. The food was excellent, the conversation was lively and it was great seeing folks. Also three more people came by car. As usual I forgot to take shots after we got to the Red Mill but here are a few that I did, and the one Mark took of us coming in.
