After five years of nursing Orion’s old decks along the time came to tackle the project. It was a bit daunting but with advice from Myndy Woodruff, Bob Schumacher, Michael Claudon and Mike at St. Lawrence Restoration, I had no more excuses. Technically it was not a difficult project, the hardest part was removing the old deck – then it was just time, totaling about 140 hours.
There is a good deal of talk about the quality of current marine plywood. With that in mind all sides of the plywood were sealed with thinned down Total Boat penetrating epoxy. Time will tell……
